Business Excellence
We can all think of organisations that we would recognise as being excellent. They may well operate in different environments, and come in all shapes and sizes but what they do share is the ability to achieve and sustain superior levels of performance that meet or, in many cases exceed the expectations of all those people or groups of people who have an interest in the organisation. These stakeholders include those with a financial interest such as shareholders (and their representatives) or funding providers, customers, employees, partners, suppliers and indeed often society as a whole, or groups within it such as local communities, pressure groups etc. So what is the ‘secret of success’ of these excellent organisations?
Extensive research carried out by a number of organisations and individuals, including the EFQM and others, together with interviews with senior executives from a cross-section of industries operating across the world, suggests that what these excellent organisations have in common is a number of key ways of thinking and working. Building on the research already carried out we have identified ten significant attributes. We call them the Key Attributes of Business Excellence.
We consider that any organisation aspiring to become and remain excellent, whether small or large, private or public sector, for profit or not for profit, will do well to study each attribute closely and ask themselves, “Is this true of us?”.
To find out more, including how we can help you to assess the level of excellence of your organisation and how to identify and make significant performance improvement, then please contact us . We will be delighted to talk to you and share with you our views and experiences.
